(오스틴, 텍사스주 2018년 3월 19일 PRNewswire=연합뉴스) 세인트데이비드메디컬센터 부설 텍사스심장부정맥연구소(TCAI)는 2018년 3월 1일과 2일 복합 심장부정맥에 관한 네 번째의 국제 심포지엄 EPLive 2018을 개최했다. 미국 전역의 전기생리학(EP) 분야 전문가들뿐만 아니라 유럽, 아시아와 중남미에서 온 동 분야의 리더 약 200명이 텍사스주 오스틴에서 이틀 동안 열린 이 교육 콘퍼런스에 참가했다. 참가자들은 현직의 임상 심장전기생리학자, 전기생리학 분야 종사자들과 심장 박동이 비정상이거나 불규칙한 질환인 복합 심장부정맥 치료에 관심이 있는 일반 심장전문의들이다.

EPLive 2018은 라이브 및 녹화된 전문가 해설 동영상을 위주로 교육을 진행했다. 전 세계 최고의 병원들 즉, TCAI, 마요클리닉, 스탠퍼드대학메디컬센터, 마운트시나이병원, UCLA헬스시스템, 펜실베이니아대학헬스시스템, 텍사스사우스웨스턴대학메디컬센터, 콜로라도대학병원, 반더빌트심장·혈관연구소, 랭커스터종합병원과 매사추세츠종합병원의 사례들이 동영상으로 방영되었다.

동 콘퍼런스에서는 TCAI의 수석메디컬디렉터 겸 EPLive 교육과정 디렉터이자 심장전기생리학자로서 F.H.R.S., F.A.C.C., F.E.S.C.인 안드레 나탈리 박사 외에도 교육과정 공동디렉터 아민 알-아마드 박사, 로드니 호튼 박사, 패트릭 흐라니츠키 박사, 로버트 캔비 박사, 조셉 걸링하우스 박사, 쉐인 베일리 박사, 자비에르 산체스 박사, 데이비드 버카르트 박사, 제이슨 자그로드스키 박사와 루이지 디비아세 박사 등 TCAI에 근무하는 여러 내과 의사들이 사례를 발표했다.

Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David's Medical Center draws cardiac experts from across the globe for EPLive 2018

AUSTIN, Texas, March 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On March 1 and 2, 2018, the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute (TCAI) at St. David's Medical Center hosted its fourth international symposium on complex arrhythmias, EPLive 2018. Nearly 200 leaders in the field of electrophysiology (EP) from Europe, Asia and Latin America, as well as experts from across the United States, attended the two-day educational conference in Austin, Texas. Attendees included practicing clinical cardiac electrophysiologists, electrophysiologist fellows and general cardiologists who have an interest in treating complex arrhythmias―a condition in which the heart beats with an irregular or abnormal rhythm.

EPLive 2018 used live and recorded cases with expert commentary as the primary teaching tool. Cases were broadcast from some of the world's premier treatment centers, such as TCAI, Mayo Clinic, Stanford University Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, UCLA Health System, the University of Pennsylvania Health System, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, University of Colorado Hospital, Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute, Lancaster General Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
