FIBRUM은 DESIRIUM 출시를 위해 100만 달러 규모의 투자를 유치했다. 이 투자 라운드는 FunCubator와 NP Capital 펀드가 주도했다.
DESIRIUM은 엔터테인먼트 콘텐츠가 배포되는 VR 시장을 위한 독특함 제품이다. 이달 19일 DESIRIUM 플랫폼이 오큘러스 스토어에서 애플리케이션으로 출시됐으며, 현재 오큘러스 고(Oculus Go)[https://desirium.net/red/?s=go&c=2p ]와 삼성 기어 VR[https://desirium.net/red/?s=gear&c=2p ] 헤드셋에서 이용할 수 있다.
FIBRUM CEO Ilya Flaks는 “조만간 가상 현실에서 콘텐츠 제공과 소비가 큰 변화를 겪을 것”이라며 “자사는 다년간에 걸친 VR 경험을 바탕으로 DESIRIUM을 업계의 단일 에코시스템으로 설계했다. 이는 사용자에게 매우 새로운 VR 체험을 보장할 것”이라고 말했다.
FIBRUM은 70% 수익 공유 모델을 제시하며, 최고의 개발자들을 유치할 계획이다. 첫 DESIRIUM 버전은 4개 파트너사가 제작한 콘텐츠를 포함한다.
FIBRUM은 DESIRIUM 내에서 VR 콘텐츠 개발자, 퍼블리싱 업자 및 배포업자로 기능한다. 유치한 투자금은 제품 자체의 R&D와 마케팅을 비롯해 파트너십 프로그램에도 사용될 예정이다.
DESIRIUM은 2018년 말까지 미국과 아시아의 주요 독자적인 헤드셋에 적용될 예정이며, 해당 시기까지는 콘텐츠 라이브러리가 두 배로 증가할 전망이다.
이번 자금 조달 라운드를 주도한 투자업체는 FunCubator 펀드다.
FunCubator 파트너 Almas Abulkhairov는 “자사는 VR을 통해 투자 포트폴리오를 확장하고 있다”라며 “DESIRIUM은 콘텐츠, 채널 배포 및 소비자를 포함하는 완전한 패키지로서 매력을 발산한다”고 말했다.
이번 투자 라운드에는 NP Capital도 참여했다.

FIBRUM Launches DESIRIUM VR Platform With $1 Million in Funding
MOSCOW, September 20, 2018/PRNewswire/ -- FIBRUM announces the launch of the DESIRIUM VR platform that has a potential of changing the VR content distribution market.

FIBRUM received an investment of $1 million for the launch of DESIRIUM. The FunCubator and NP Capital funds led the investment round.
DESIRIUM is a unique product for the VR market, through which entertainment content is distributed. On September 19, 2018, the platform came out as an application in the Oculus Store and is now available on Oculus Go [https://desirium.net/red/?s=go&c=2p ] and Samsung Gear VR [https://desirium.net/red/?s=gear&c=2p ] headsets.
"We believe that content delivery and consumption in virtual reality will change significantly in the nearest future," said FIBRUM CEO Ilya Flaks. FIBRUM intends to attract the best developers offering them a 70% revenue sharing model. The first version of DESIRIUM will include content from 4 partners.
Within DESIRIUM, FIBRUM performs as a developer, publisher, and distributor of VR content. The attracted investments will go to R&D and marketing of both the product itself and the partnership program.
By the end of 2018, DESIRIUM will be featured in major standalone headsets of the US and Asia. During this time, the content library should grow twofold.
Lead-investor of the round is the FunCubator fund.
